A man from Madisonville is spending time in jail after deputies say he drunkenly crashed his car into a home.
Tuesday shortly before 8:30 p.m., officers were called to an accident in the 100 block of South Elm Street in Mortons Gap.
Investigators say the driver, 31-year-old Matthew Fisher, lost control of his car and struck the north side of a home.
During the investigation, deputies determined Fisher was under the influence of alcohol.
Deputies say Fisher ran away when they tried to take him into custody, and was apprehended in a nearby yard.
The sheriff’s office says no one was hurt in the accident.
Fisher is booked into the Hopkins County Jail on charges of operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol, Fleeing Police, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Escape.
