Louisville police responded to the crash at the intersection of Westport Road and I-265 around 9:15 p.m. Friday.
In their preliminary investigation, Louisville Metro Police Department said a Ford F-150 was attempting to make a left hand turn from Westport Road to I-265 Southbound, turning into the path of an oncoming motorcycle. The motorcyclist tried to maneuver quickly but crashed into the truck.
Police said the driver of the truck got out of the vehicle, fleeing on foot and did not help the victims.
The motorcyclist and passenger were taken to UofL Hospital. The passenger has critical injuries while the motorcyclist’s injuries were considered non-life threatening. Both were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
Police tried to locate the truck’s driver by canvassing the area but could not find them after a lengthy search.
