A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a truck early Sunday morning.
Louisville police said around 3:20 a.m. on September 7, officers were called to Platka Road and Manslick Road on the report of a pedestrian struck.
Police said their initial investigation showed a truck was heading north on St. Andrews Church Road when it entered the intersection of Platka and Manslick and hit an individual, who reportedly was wearing all dark clothing, trying to cross Manslick Road while “disregarding the crosswalk.”
The driver stopped and waited for first responders to arrive, according to a Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson. He is cooperating with the investigation.
The victim died at the scene.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating.
