The Kentucky Agricultural Development Board approved $955,113 worth in grants for agricultural diversification and rural development projects.
The County Agricultural Incentives Program, also known as CAIP, provides Kentucky agricultural producers with cost-share assistance on practices to allow them to improve and diversify their current farm operations. It covers a total of 11 incentive areas, all related to agriculture.
Edmoson County will be receiving $50,000 for CAIP and $10,000 for YAIP, which is the Youth Agricultural Incentives Program. This encourages youth to engage in and explore agricultural opportunities.
A total of seven CAIPs were approved, totaling $623,688. The following counties approved are:
Clark County ($15,000)
Edmonson County (60,000)
Fulton County ($46,000)
Johnson County ($32,250)
Livingston County ($71,838)
Shelby County ($320,000)
Washington County ($88,600)
Edmonson County was among only 2 counties approved for YAIP, alongside Washington County.
