A jury delivered a guilty verdict against a Louisville man for a murder that took place in 2021.
Kaelin Denzel Akins, 29, was arrested and charged with the murder of Ousmane Ndaw, among several other charges, in November 2021.
On Thursday, September 25, a Jefferson County jury found Akins guilty of murder, possession of a handgun by a felon, fleeing police in a motor vehicle and fleeing police on foot. Additionally, Akins was determined to be a persistent felony offender.
The jury recommended a life sentence for the murder charge, and an additional 30 years and six months for the three other charges, with all sentences recommended to run consecutively.
A formal sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, November 20, 2025.
