A man has been arrested and charged after a reported theft from a farm in Barren County.
According to a citation, a deputy with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Harry King Road for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with a man who reported that a tractor and a side-by-side vehicle were missing from the farm.
Surveillance footage captured 52 year-old Alex Chase entering the property around 6 a.m. Friday and taking the tractor. He returned around 7 a.m. and took the side-by-side.
After the man was able to identify Chase in the footage, deputies responded to his home, where the tractor and side-by-side were found on the property where he was living.
Chase was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking and distribution of farm equipment (over $10,000 but less than $1,000,000 ).
He was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
