Madisonville Police Department officials say a man is in jail after threatening to kick staff and nurses, along with taking the hospital floor as hostages.
According to a police report, officers were dispatched on Sunday (10/19) to Baptist Health Deaconess Emergency Room in reference to a disturbance.
Officials say officers made contact with the suspect, later identified as 50 year-old William Risk of Madisonville, who was speaking to ER staff and nurses in an aggressive manner.
They say Risk was threatening to kick staff and nurses in the face and take the entire floor of the hospital as hostages if he did not get his way.
Police say after a brief altercation, officers were able to place Risk in handcuffs and transport him to the Hopkins County Jail where he is being held under a $1,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 24.
He has been charged with Terroristic Threatening, Menacing and Resisting Arrest.
