
A shooting at a Russell neighborhood club left one man dead on October 25.
Louisville police responded at 11:45 p.m. Saturday to Club Cedar at the corner of 26th Street and Cedar Street. In the club’s parking lot, officers found a man who had been shot in the head. He was taken to UofL Hospital, where he later died.
The victim’s wife identified him as 45-year-old Andrew Cochran.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit has taken control of the investigation. Metro Alcoholic Beverage Control was also on scene and is actively investigating. Metro ABC issued an emergency suspension of Club Cedar’s liquor license.
Metro ABC will continue to act swiftly when public safety is at risk and work collaboratively under Mayor Greenberg’s Safe Louisville Plan to address businesses and conditions that endanger the safety of the community.
