
A two vehicle accident on Interstate 65 in Warren County claimed the life of one driver early Monday morning.
Just before 3 a.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 03 received a call about an injury collision. Troopers responded to the scene at the 20.2 mile marker southbound on Interstate 65.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2019 Toyota Highlander, operated by 49 year-old Johnathan Barnes of Hendersonville, Tennessee, struck an object in the roadway, causing the vehicle to become disabled in the travel lane. A semi tractor trailer, operated by 35 year-old Kaeleb Huntsman of Deputy, Indiana, also traveling south, struck the same object, resulting in the vehicle colliding with the Toyota Highlander.
The driver of the Highlander was pronounced dead at the scene by the Warren County Coroner.
Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by Warren County EMS and the Warren County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.
