The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office has announced the sentencing of two juveniles in connection to a homicide case.
Officials said one juvenile pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 23 years for murder (complicity), 15 years for attempted murder, 20 years for robbery (complicity), five years for tampering with evidence, and 12 months for possession of a handgun by a minor. All sentences will run concurrently for a total of 23 years in prison.
According to officials, as part of a plea deal, the defendant agreed to serve the sentence without any motions for probation or shock probation. He must serve 85% of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said the second defendant, who also pleaded guilty to the charges, was sentenced to five years of criminal facilitation to robbery, 12 months for possession of a handgun by a minor, and five years for tampering with evidence. His sentences will also run concurrently for a total of five years in prison.
Officials said the charges against the two juveniles stem from a robbery turned deadly shooting of a young teen on June 26, 2024.
Details in this case remain limited as both defendants are under the age of 18.
