
Two people were arrested after a lengthy theft investigation by the Greensburg Police Department.
The investigation was initiated on December 19, 2024, after police received a complaint from the current Chief and Treasurer of the Green County Fire Department. Following the installation of newly elected officers, discrepancies were identified in the department’s financial records, prompting the officers to contact the Greensburg Police Department for further review.
Through the investigation, it was determined that over nearly eight years, Joshua Gupton and Amelia “Brooke” Gupton allegedly misused Green County Fire Department funds to pay personal expenses and made unauthorized purchases using department bank cards and accounts.
According to Greensburg Police, the amount of fraudulent transactions is estimated to exceed $55,000.
On November 6, Greensburg Police arrested the pair.
Joshua Gupton was charge with Theft By Unlawful Taking All Others $10,000 <$1,000,000; Fraudulent Use of a Credit or Debit Card over $10,000; Abuse of Public Trust > $10,000 But < $100,000 and Official Misconduct 1st Degree. Amelia “Brooke” Gupton was charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking All Others $10,000 <$1,000,000 and Fraudulent Use of a Credit or Debit Card over $10,000.
