An interstate ramp in downtown Louisville will be closed for four weeks beginning Tuesday, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said beginning on November 18 at 9 a.m. and lasting through Monday, December 15, the ramp from I-65 South to I-64 West will be closed.
Officials said the closure is necessary as part of the expansion joint replacement project on the John F Kennedy Memorial Bridge, which connects Clark County, Indiana to Louisville, Kentucky. During the closure, crews will work on the southernmost expansion joint on the bridge’s right side and prepare for the next construction phase.
Officials said drivers should plan to detour by continuing on I-65 South and exiting onto I-264 West, which later connects to I-64 West. The I-64 East and I-71 ramps will remain open.
