Several local counties including Meade and Breckinridge, are experiencing an outage in their Code Red Alert systems due to a recent cyber security incident.
According to the Meade County E911 Center, the CodeRED emergency notification system experienced a cyber security incident that was contained but damaged the CodeRED system. CodeRED states that there is no indication that any customer data or personal information has been compromised.
Due to this incident, the entire system is down and is unable to send out alerts for weather warnings or any emergency notifications that Meade County 911 would need to send out. CodeRED has decommissioned the old platform and is moving to a new platform but will take an undetermined length of time to complete due to the amount of agencies they need to transfer over and train. Updates and any additional information will be relayed as they become available.
Please monitor your local media outlets and the Meade County E911 Facebook page for any emergency notifications or storm warnings.
