
officials say a firefighter was injured on Saturday while responding to a house fire in the Highview neighborhood.
According to Fern Creek Fire Department, firefighters responded to a structure fire at around 7:30 p.m. in the 7200 block of Apple Mill Road on Saturday, November 22. At the scene, first responders found smoke coming from the home.
While fighting the fire, a Fern Creek firefighter fell through burnt flooring and was injured. They were taken to a local hospital and are expected to recover from what appeared to be minor injuries.
None of the occupants of the home were injured.
The house suffered smoke and fire damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
