A man was shot and killed on Friday in the Russell neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Officers responded to a call at around 8:40 p.m. of a shooting in the 2700 block of Cedar Street on Friday, November 21.
At the scene, police found a man who had been shot in the face. He was declared dead at the scene. On Saturday, November 22, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 27-year-old Isaiah J. Washington.
On Friday evening, Louisville Metro Police Department said they had the shooter in custody and on Saturday morning announced the arrest of 25 year-old Maria Swann.
According to court documents, Swann admitted to shooting the victim during a verbal argument.
She has been charged with murder-domestic violence. Police said Swann and the victim were living together and were in a relationship.
Swann is being held in the Louisville Metro Department of Correction and is expected to appear in court for arraignment on November 24.
