
A man is dead after an officer-involved shooting in the Southside neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Fourth Division officers responded to a call of a robbery in the 100 block of East Southland Boulevard around 9:55 p.m. on Saturday, November 22.
The caller told police that they were robbed at gunpoint and gave a description of the suspect.
Louisville Metro Police Department said officers found a man near the scene of the robbery and attempted to make contact with them, prompting the suspect to flee while taking out a handgun.
The two officers then fired at the suspect. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Louisville Metro Police Department said body camera footage of the incident will be released within 10 business days, and the names of the involved officers will be released within 72 hours.
No officers were injured.
