
An Elizabethtown man was arrested after falsely reporting an incident.
At 10 p.m. on Friday (12/05), the Hodgenville Police Department was looking for a suspected impaired driver, who later was identified as 39 year-old William Close of Elizabethtown.
The next day, Close reported his vehicle was stolen.
He was then arrested and charged for falsely reporting an incident, running from the scene, 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment and several traffic charges.
On Sunday (12/07), police were able to find property Close removed from his vehicle, which he attempted to hide at the time.
Close was then charged with Possession Control Substance 1st methamphetamine, 2nd offense; possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia; tampering with physical evidence and various traffic violations. He was lodged in the Larue County Detention Center without bond.
The vehicle was recovered by the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday (12/06).
