A 44 year-old Clarksville, Tennessee man who was being released from jail is back in custody in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Miguel Pena was released from jail on Christmas Eve after being arrested for disorderly conduct. The Hopkinsville Police Department reported that Pena slashed the tires of several parked vehicles at the jail as he left on foot.
Officers tracked Pena down on a walking trail, but he ignored their commands to surrender and spat at the police cruiser before he was rearrested and taken back to jail.
Pena is now charged with first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree assault of a police officer, and tampering with physical evidence. He is being held in the Christian County Detention Center under a $20,000 cash bond.
