A home invasion that led to a shooting Friday evening in Madisonville remains under investigation.
According to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a home on Fowler Road at 4:59 p.m. on Friday. Initial reports stated the homeowner shot the intruder.
Investigators say an intruder broke into the home and got into a struggle with the homeowner.
The homeowner retrieved a firearm during that struggle and shot the intruder.
The suspect’s medical condition is unknown at this time.
Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Madisonville Police Department and Medical Center Ambulance.
