Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies are credited with saving a woman’s life Friday in downtown Louisville.
Deputies assigned to the Hall of Justice found a woman unconscious with shallow breathing lying on the porch area outside of the building Friday morning, according to a sheriff’s office release.
The deputies moved the woman inside out of the cold, assessed her and gave her Narcan. The woman responded and was transported to the hospital.
The deputies were working the magnetometer post near the entrance to the Hall of Justice, trained not only in security but emergency response as well. One of the deputies is a former EMT, and that experience and training kicked in to help save the woman.
