A man is facing charges after he was accused of assaulting a police officer in Hopkinsville Tuesday morning.
The Hopkinsville Police Department said 50 year-old Richard Coleman entered a hospital Tuesday morning and began yelling, threatening people and aggressively approaching hospital staff.
Coleman then allegedly pulled out a seven-inch knife from his shirt pocket.
Officers searched Coleman for other weapons, and during the search, Coleman reportedly resisted and began fighting with officers.
Coleman was arrested after the incident and charged with second-degree disorderly conduct, menacing and third-degree assault of a police officer.
He is being held in the Christian County Jail under a $5,000 cash bond.
