A Warren County man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he killed his wife and attempted to conceal her body by setting a vehicle on fire.
According to a post-arrest complaint, Warren County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 3:25 a.m. on January 19 to the 3300 block of Threlkel Ferry Road after a report of a sedan on fire. Deputies discovered the remains of a deceased person inside the vehicle.
Investigators later determined the victim to be Jasmina Aljic. Authorities allege she was killed by her husband, 31 year-old Salko Husejnovic. The complaint states the couple was married and had three children together.
According to investigators, Husejnovic kept Aljic’s body on the floor of their residence for three consecutive days, telling the children their mother was sleeping. The complaint alleges he later moved her body to the passenger-side floorboard of her vehicle.
Authorities say Husejnovic persuaded his brother’s girlfriend to obtain gasoline, then traveled with Aljic’s vehicle to Threlkel Ferry Road. Investigators allege he poured gasoline in and on the vehicle, soaked a rag with gasoline, and set the car on fire.
The pair then returned to a residence on Fortuna Avenue, where investigators say Husejnovic attempted to conceal clothing connected to the incident.
The complaint states Husejnovic later confessed to the killing but blamed his co-defendant for failing to contact law enforcement and for the disposal of Aljic’s body.
Husejnovic is charged with murder-domestic violence, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence.
Shelly Boyd, 44 of Bowling Green, was charged with tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
They are both being held in the Warren County Regional Jail.
The case remains under investigation.
