A man is in custody after being accused of hitting a Louisville Metro Police officer with a bulldozer.
Officers responded to a call at around 11:30 p.m. of a suspicious person with possible warrants in the 5100 block of Cane Run Road on Wednesday, January 28.
The suspect was identified as 24-year-old Jacob Geary, who had several warrants and was operating a bulldozer when Louisville Metro Police arrived.
Officers approached Geary and ordered him to stepout of the bulldozer. Geary responded by driving away from the police.
The officers began to knock on the bulldozer’s window and instructed Geary to stop and exit the vehicle. One of the officers then tried to open the driver’s side door of the bulldozer in an attempt to pull the suspect out of it.
Geary began to spin the bulldozer, hitting a vehicle and the officer attempting to pull him out, leaving a visible mark on his head, and almost hitting multiple other officers in the process. He then attempted to drive away as police followed him on foot for several minutes before he eventually agreed to exit the vehicle.
Geary is charged with fleeing or evading police and assault. His bond was set at $10,000 after he pleaded not guilty Thursday morning.
