The Allen County Sheriff’s Office arrested a suspect and recovered stolen property following a coordinated investigation into a burglary and vehicle theft that occurred on Friday.
Authorities responded in the early morning hours on Friday to Caster’s gas station, located at the corner of Barren River Dam Road and Meador Port Oliver Road, where a burglary had been reported.
Later that day, patrol units were also dispatched to a nearby residence following the theft of a John Deere Gator UTV.
By Friday evening, detectives from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, working in conjunction with the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, successfully located the suspect at a residence in Barren County.
Brian Purnell, 33, was taken into custody after authorities recovered both the stolen UTV and the merchandise taken from Caster’s.
Purnell has been lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
