
No credible threat was found after a bomb threat to the Scottsville square early Saturday morning.
The threat was first reported to dispatch when a caller made specific references to the “islands” on the square and an unspecified church.
Officers from the Scottsville Police Department and Allen County Sheriff’s Office immediately responded, securing and searching the downtown area.
Dispatch personnel also monitored camera footage of the square throughout the incident and observed no suspicious activity.
Initial searches revealed no explosive devices or immediate threats to the public.
After extensive investigation, the threat was found to not be credible.
The Scottsville Police Department added that there is no threat to the public at this time and that any threat will be taken seriously.
Scottsville Police was assisted by the FBI and Kentucky State Police.
