A Bowling Green man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he stole and damaged hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment from a business at the Kentucky Transpark.
According to police, officers responded to a theft report on January 17 at a business located in the Transpark. Employees told officers that someone had been cutting cables from industrial machines and removing the materials from the facility.
Investigators reviewed video surveillance and gathered additional evidence, which led them to identify 43 year-old Daniel McIvor as the primary suspect. Police allege McIvor entered the facility under the guise of performing contractor work, then cut cables from equipment and stored the materials inside his personal vehicle.
The business reported the value of the stolen materials at more than $272,000, with additional damage to equipment estimated in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
McIvor has been charged with theft by unlawful taking (less than $1 million), first-degree criminal mischief, and operating a motor vehicle on a suspended operator’s license. He was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
