On Friday morning around 5:30 a.m., Louisville Metro Police Department Third Division officers responded to the 7500 block of Winstead Drive on a report of a shooting.
When they arrived, they found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers immediately rendered aid until EMS arrived and transported the victim to UofL Hospital. She was initially reported to be in critical condition.
She later succumbed to her injuries.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation.
