
Members of Meade County Fiscal Court worked through a short agenda during their regular meeting Tuesday (2/10) night.
Magistrates began the meeting by appoint Magistrate Gary Chapman to conduct the meeting in the absence of Judge Executive Troy Kok. Magistrates approved a request for RFP Solacom Refresh for the E911 Center. E911 Director Jeremy Miller said request worked with the equipment that handles and routes calls to each of the six work positions in the E911 center along with being able to transfer calls to other agencies or units and operation of the text 911 calls. The refresh is expected to part of a E911 grant for next year. Miller reported to the court that county’s E911 Center received 52,109 calls during the year 2025. Dispatchers worked 10,122 911 calls and 206 emergency text messages during the year. Miller said the center had a 98.95 average to answer calls quicker than 15 seconds. He said the one percent was a the margin of calls received during a a on going event such as wrecks or weather where call volumes peak.
The court approved a request to seek local bids for a suv to replace the current chase vehicle. The replacement vehicle would provide a second 4 wheel drive vehicle for the department.
Meade County Sheriff Phillip Wimpee provided county leaders with excess fees from his 2025 calendar year in the amount of $3,500. He also provided the Fiscal Court an additional $1,340 from a interest earned on evidence money that had been inadvertently setup in a interest bearing account. Magistrates approved the funds.
The court approved Judge Kok to sign a deed for first portion of Nelson Lane from Kentucky 313 to the property line. They also approved accepting Brady Lane into the county maintenance system. Magistrates approved hiring staffing for Otter Creek Park once the county assumes control of the property.
Magistrates voted to return a rezoning request for 469 D.E. Brown Road to Planning and Zoning Commission in order for additional information to be considered. Additional comments related to the rezoning can be made during the Planning and Zoning Commissions regular meeting on March 19.
