Around 2:15 a.m. on March 12, the Bowling Green Fire Department was dispatched to Willow Creek Apartments off Shive Lane to respond to a fire.
According to Fire Battalion Chief Matt Ferguson, 6 units were initially sent to the scene and 7 more responded later. When they arrived, there was heavy smoke and fire present at building N with reports of 2 victims inside.
Ferguson said in total, all units from Bowling Green Fire Department were on the scene, along with Bowling Green Police and EMS. During the incident 2 young children were found deceased.
No names have been released and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
