
On Thursday, Governor Andy Beshear announced a $1.76 billion project, the single largest capital investment in Western Kentucky history.
Global Laser Enrichment is expected to develop the Paducah Laser Enrichment Facility which will create 240 new positions in McCracken County.
The 665-acre Paducah site is located near the U.S. Department of Energy’s former Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant.
Once licensed, the Paducah Laser Enrichment Facility is expected to re-enrich over 200,000 metric tons of high-assay depleted uranium under a 2016 contract with the U.S. Department of Energy.
