Hardin County Fiscal Court held a Special Called Meeting Friday morning to consider a resolution concerning the future of the Glendale industrial site.
The court unanimously approved the measure which will transfer the obligation on the Industrial Revenue Bonds to Ford Motor Company allowing then to assume full control of the site following the dissolution of the Ford–SK On joint venture. Ford outlined its intent to transition the site toward large‑scale battery storage manufacturing and its enthusiasm to continue its long-standing investment in central Kentucky.
Ford confirmed it has no plans to repurpose the site for use as a data center.
Ford shared its plans to initially create more than 2,100 jobs following completion of retooling at the site.
Ford anticipates a $2 billion investment into this project over the next two years and affirmed its intention to remain an active partner in supporting the Hardin County community.
