The man accused of shooting and killing a pregnant woman and her unborn child in Glasgow appeared in court on Thursday.
A hearing took place at the Barren County Courthouse for 24-year-old Brandon L. Bond. The Glasgow native was arrested for shooting and killing Ava Woodcock and her unborn child, Neveah.
Bond appeared via Zoom from jail while the courtroom was packed with family members and friends of the victims.
On April 6, Glasgow Police responded to 1100 block of Cleveland Avenue for a possible shooting. Woodcock was found shot inside her car. Bond was found in a wooded area behind a local business.
He was initially charged with attempted murder, attempted fetal homicide and fleeing or evading police. Those charges have since been updated to murder and fetal homicide.
Judge Gabe Pendleton waived the case to the grand jury.
Bond will not return to court unless an indictment is issued. If no indictment is returned, he will be released from jail, where he is being held on a $2 million bond.
Woodcock leaves behind a 1-year-old daughter.
