Louisville police say officers made arrests and seized three vehicles last weekend following what they described as dangerous driving activity along the Bardstown Road corridor.
In a statement posted on social media, the Louisville Metro Police Department said 5th Division patrol officers recently observed behavior they said violated the city’s street-racing ordinance. Police said officers intervened, stopped the activity, and took enforcement action that included vehicle seizures and arrests.
Thaddaeus D. Taylor, 19, was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest and Failure to Maintain Required Insurance 1st offense.
Wilson Aguilar, 22, was arrested and Charged with Reckless Driving and Operating on a suspended or revoked license.
A third person was cited for reckless driving and fleeing.
Police said street racing and related activity such as burnouts can lead to penalties under the city ordinance, including potential vehicle impoundment and financial costs. Enforcement efforts may increase during Derby season and the summer months, when traffic and crowds typically rise in the city.
Anyone with information related to reckless driving or street racing can contact Louisville Metro Police.
