The driver of the vehicle that struck a building on Logan Street on Thursday (05/14) is facing charges.
Dasharay Monte Ben’e, 23, was booked in Louisville Metro Department of Corrections on Saturday, May 16, in the early morning hours, according to an arrest record. Ben’e is charged with vehicular homicide while under the influence of alcohol. Additional charges listed include first-degree criminal mischief, first-degree wanton endangerment, failure of owner to maintain required insurance/security, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence.
Ayanna Wilbanks, 19, was killed on Thursday, May 14, in a crash on Logan Street when the car she was a passenger in struck a building.
The crash remains under investigation by the Louisville Metro Police Department.
