
One person is dead after a crash on I-264 West at the 3.8 mile-marker near the Bells Lane exit around 3 p.m. Sunday.
According to Louisville Metro Police Department’s preliminary investigation, an SUV headed westbound on I-264 with two people inside collided with another vehicle after the driver lost control.
The impact of the crash caused the SUV to hit a concrete median and overturn.
The driver of the vehicle was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The adult passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle reported no injuries.
The crash caused the interstate to close down for more than three hours.
The investigation is ongoing by the LMPD’s Traffic Unit.
