A freak accident during Louder Than Life has left a woman paralyzed.
Jamie Ulshoffer had to be hospitalized after a man fell out of a tree and onto her during the music festival at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center Friday night.
The accident took place during the concert for Knocked Loose, a metalcore band from Oldham County, who was performing at the Impact stage. The stage was right next to Broadbent Arena and facing Kentucky Kingdom.
The set for Knocked Loose didn’t get started until 11:05 p.m. due to weather delays that occurred earlier in the day.
EMS and police tended to Ulshoffer, who was then transported to University Hospital, where she is currently in the ICU. Ulshoffer doesn’t remember anything from the incident.
Ulshoffer suffered a severed spinal cord from a break in her back and said she is now paralyzed. She had already been dealing with bulging and herniated discs from a car wreck in 2022 and says she feels “miserable” after the accident.
It is unknown at this time whether or not the man who fell on Ulshoffer stuck around to help, or if he will be charged with anything following the incident.
