A Kentucky man has been charged with murder following the death of his 1-month-old child, according to Kentucky State Police.
Troopers said they received a report Saturday of an unresponsive infant from Trigg County who had been flown to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt with life-threatening injuries.
The infant died later that day, according to Kentucky State Police.
Following an autopsy and an extensive investigation, detectives arrested the child’s father, 22 year-old Givonte T. Riley of Princeton, Kentucky.
Riley is charged with murder and is being held at the Christian County Jail under a $1,000,000 cash bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
