Three men admitted their roles Thursday in the violent death of an 18-year-old boy in Bullitt County.
Cole Bullock was murdered on Halloween night in 2024 just weeks after turning 18.
Plea deals were finalized Thursday for his killers, but his family said true justice is still out of reach.
Cole Bullock’s loved ones came to court clinging to hope for accountability, only to watch the men who took him escape a trial.
The commonwealth attorney said each agreement reflects the defendant’s responsibility in Cole Bullock’s murder. Originally facing six charges each, all three defendants walked away with lesser deals.
Joe Ortiz received the longest sentence, pleading to manslaughter and three counts of wanton endangerment, adding up to 30 consecutive years behind bars.
Jason Lannon pleaded guilty to lesser charges of facilitation to murder and complicity to robbery, facing 15 years.
The third defendant, Jadyn Molina-Holland, who acted as the getaway driver, could serve just 5 years for three counts of wanton endangerment.
The defendants will have a final sentencing hearing at 10 a.m. November 10.
