A man is in the Muhlenberg County Jail on a long list of charges, including murder, fleeing police, resisting arrest, dealing meth, and others.
Sunday evening, a woman was found under a blanket with a gunshot wound, inside a home on Wild Horse Lane. That is between Bremen and Central City.
The coroner confirms the victim is 39-year-old Amber DeArmond.
A witness told authorities she had been at the home with Skylar Shanks when she heard a gunshot, then Shanks ran out of the room and said “we have to get out of here.”
Responding troopers say they were told a man, who appeared to have blood on him, was seen near the shed of a home on KY-70.
While searching, troopers say they found Shanks hiding under a pool deck.
They say he ran from them, but was tased and taken into custody and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center. Troopers say he wouldn’t answer questions.
A search warrant was served for the shed, and troopers say they found bloody clothes and meth.
Court officials say Shanks’ arraignment is set for October 12.
