A Clarksville man was arrested after a road rage incident between a car and a motorcycle left a motorcyclist seriously injured on Interstate 65, according to Louisville police.
Nathaniel Gibson, 25, was arrested October 6 on I-65 North at Grade Lane.
Officers were called around 4:20 p.m. for a crash involving a Ford Mustang and a Harley-Davidson, which were both traveling northbound. They found the motorcyclist with serious injuries to his head and body, according to police.
Police wrote in Gibson’s arrest citation that the two drivers were in a verbal argument. Police said the motorcyclist folded in the Mustang driver’s side mirror and the Mustang driver, identified as Gibson, swerved into the motorcycle’s lane multiple times before striking it.
Police said roadway evidence showed the Mustang hit the motorcycle’s handlebars, causing the rider to lose control, hit a concrete barrier and became “separated” from the bike.
Witnesses described it as a road rage incident. Gibson remained on scene until medical help arrived, according to police.
He was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment and reckless driving. Gibson pleaded not guilty and the judge gave him a $50,000 full cash bond with home incarceration if posted.
