A couple of people were injured in separate accidents in Meade County this weekend. The first accident happened around around 9:30 pm Friday (11/6) along US 60.
A 2012 Dodge Avenger driven by 20 year-old Brandon Toothman of Buffalo was traveling east when he slowed down to avoid striking a deer that had crossed the road ahead of him. A 2001 Saturn driven by 24 year-old Ethen Haas of Garfield was following behind Toothman’s car and struck the rear of the first vehicle.
Haas was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown by Meade County EMS for possible injuries. Toothman and his three passengers and a passenger in Haas’s vehicle were no injured.
The second accident happened around 10:20 pm Saturday (11/7) along Highway 448 when a 1998 Audi A4 driven by 26 year-old Robert Geary of Brandenburg stated that his wheels locked up and would not turn as he was driving down the road. The vehicle went down into a ditch and came to rest at the bottom of the hill. Geary was taken to University of Louisville Hospital by Meade County EMS for treatment of a head injury. The Meade County fire Department also assisted the Meade County Sheriff’s Department at the scene.
