Multiple people were hospitalized Tuesday morning after a suspect fleeing Louisville police ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle in Louisville’s California neighborhood.
Matthew Sanders, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said officers attempted a traffic stop on a suspected stolen vehicle at 11:03 a.m. near South 24th Street and Garland Avenue.
Police said the suspect sped away from officers and ran a red light at Dr. W. J. Hodge and Garland streets. The suspect then crashed into another vehicle that had the right of way.
According to police, the passenger in the fleeing vehicle was ejected and taken to UofL Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the fleeing vehicle was injured but is expected to survive. Occupants of the other vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
