Changes are coming for access to Fort Knox beginning on Tuesday (12/1). Enhanced security measures are being implemented for Central Kentucky military installation that are directed by the U.S. Department of Defense.
Beginning on December 1, all individuals who wish to enter Fort Knox must use the Chaffee Gate. Those who do not have a military id must be present a valid operators license and be vetted at the visitor center by using the far left lanes.
The exception to the new guideline are commercial trucks delivering to the post, individuals who have a military id car or Common Access Card.
Effective December 15, all commercial truck traffic must access Fort Knox via the Brandenburg Station gate between the hours of 6 and 1 pm. Commercials Trucks will be vetted at the Chaffee Gate when the Brandenburg Station gate is closed.
The Chaffee, Brandenburg Station, and Wilson Road gates will remain open to those with military id cards or Common Access Cards during normal operating hours.
