A couple of Christmas traffic accidents sent several to the hospital. According to the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department, the first accident happened around 5:30 p.m. at the top of Sinking Creek Hill on US 60.
A white 2003 Ford Pickup driven by 53 year-old Lisa Smith of Harned struck head-on a 2001 Ford Pickup driven by 60 year-old Mary Dupin of Irvington. At least three people were taken to the hospital with one of them being airlifted from the scene.
Highway 60 was closed about two hours as crews from the Harned Fire Department, Breck Central EMS, Irvington and Hardinsburg Police Departments assisted the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department to clean up the scene.
Later Christmas night, a single vehicle accident happened around 10:30 on Highway 690 at SeRee bridge. According to the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s, a 2002 Ford car driven by 21 year-old Tiffany Douglas of Harned struck a deer. Douglas was taken to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital for her injuries by Breck Central EMS. The Harned Fire Department assisted at the scene.
