An Ekron woman was arrested Tuesday night by Elizabethtown police and charged with second-degree assault of a man described by the arrest citation as a former boyfriend.
Gina Edwards, 30, is charged with a Class C felony, punishable by five to 10 years in prison, if convicted.
The citation says she went to the man’s residence and the two became involved in a physical altercation about a phone. She is said to have struck the man multiple times in the face, causing a busted lip. She is also accused of using a box cutter to cut him in the upper right arm.
Edwards is being held in lieu of a $5,000 cash bond. She is scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. March 4 in Hardin District Court.
