Hardinsburg Police is investigating a case of counterfeit money after an unknown man attempted to pass fake money at a local business Monday night. Authorities said around 11:30 p.m. Monday (2/29) the man tried to pay with counterfeit twenty dollar bills but was unsuccessful.
The man is described as a white male, five foot ten inches tall, about 160 pounds with a slim build. Police urge citizens to beware of your surroundings and be alert as other counterfeit bills could be offered as payment in day to day transactions.
Anyone with any information about this case or think you may have received counterfeit money is encouraged to call the local police.
