
The Bowling Green Police Department arrested a woman Friday for practicing law without a license.
Alma R. Bonilla, 50 of Franklin, was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Practice of Law, Deceptive Business Practices and Theft by Unlawful taking $500 or more but under $10,000.
After receiving a complaint, an undercover Bowling Green Police Officer gained information that Bonilla was acting as an attorney and was practicing law without a license in Kentucky.
The same undercover officer met with Bonilla at her office on 2427 Russellville Road, paying her requested retainer fee of $1,000 for representation.
Bonilla then stated she would represent the undercover officer with any legal matter he might be faced with.
Bowling Green Police Department served a warrant on Bonilla at her office, resulting in her arrest.
