Meade County School Board met just after Noon Tuesday (3/08) to conduct the business of their regular monthly meeting due to the boys basketball team being in competition in the regional basketball tournament Tuesday evening.
Justin McElfresh of Sherman Carter Barnhart Architects gave a slide show in an update of progress to the renovation and addition to the Area Technical Center. Several items were discussed and they will be back next month to present the final schematic for consideration of approval.
The board approved a bid of $32,496.14 from Radcliff Electric Supply, Inc. for a lighting upgrade for the Flaherty campuses. This upgrade to LED lighting is expected to pay for itself though saving on utilities within a few years. The work will begin over spring break and be completed during the summer.
The board also approved the sale of 4 full size buses and 1 special needs bus through KISTA and local auction with the buses going to the highest bidder.
The April meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, instead of Tuesday, April 12, due to the state school board conference.
