A snake knocked out power for customers of Meade County RECC in Hardinsburg Wednesday (6/1) morning.
Power crews worked through the morning to repair damage done by the reptile that got into and shorted out equipment at Hardinsburg substation number one around 7 AM CDT. As a result, 1,877 customers lost power around Hardinsburg.
David Pace with Meade County RECC said crews had to back feed power circuits to get customers back online. He said that all customers had been restored by around 7:50 AM CDT. He said the snake crawled across a circuit which caused damage to the equipment.
