A successful first day for students was completed Wednesday (8/10) in Meade County Schools as students and teachers worked to settle back into their schedules and familiar surroundings.
School officials reported a smooth start to the year with common first day jitters. No major issues were reported across the district. School leaders remind the community to mindful of the return of school buses on the local roadways and allow extra room for buses and bus stops as children are near the highways. Motorists should also be alert and slow down as you new a school zone as traffic will be increased during morning and afternoon hours of the day. School officials say that the bus timings will become normal after the first few days of the year as bus drivers learn their routes.
